Hey all

I am not the biggest fan of video games, and I absolutely fucking loathe all the war-glorifying shooter games...

but this technology is worth gawking at for a minute.

I don't understand how that thing they stand/walk on moves around? How do they 'walk' like that?

- Would be cool if they did a game that the character recreated exactly the moviments the player did.
A capoeira or wushu fighter, but that would require physical prowess of the player to execute the movies, that would be cool.
The same with a dance game.

Those games are amazing don't get me wrong. Fun as hell

but I think we are vastly underestimating what it DOES to an entire generation of people who play them. Enough games and Hollywood action movies, and we become totally de-sensitized to war and violence, we don't think twice about it. Hardcore gamers will actually unconsciously associate images of war with pleasure centers in the brain.

Even lesser game apps like Clash of Clans; MILLIONS of kids are playing this everywhere, long before they consciously begin to think about society. How does it shape us culturally?

In highschool I remember I had to debate that 'War toys were not harmful to the child'. I used to love GI Joe etc so of course I totally won the debate lol. But now I look back, I think I was wrong.

If you haven't played bioshock you need too, I can't believe how good that game is.
People say they all want the truth, but when they are confronted with a truth that disagrees with them, they balk at it as if it were an unwanted zombie apocalypse come to destroy civilization.
