It's a historical fact that the end of the Assyro-Babylonian civilization came about due to their propensity for settling diverse captive peoples on their own ground ie. multiculturalism. This story in Genesis is really a warning as to the peril of mass immigration and multiculturalism which the Jewish people remember and understand well.
