I was told by my family doctor about 4-5 years ago that I probably had cancer.

I had some digestion issues, and they took some scans or whatever and saw some small spots on the scan that they said was abnormal. I asked what it could be, she looked me right in the eye and said very frankly; 'probably cancer'.

I lived with that for over a month until I was scheduled for some further tests, of which showed nothing. All the doctors and gastro-whatever you call them all gave up and said they couldn't help me.
Funny none of them ever asked me what I eat.

After all that, our man Canuckster told me to stop eating wheat, and I listened to him.
It totally worked, I'm 100% cured.

I can even eat wheat again in moderation, I take nice quality shits :D

Funny, I never believed her. I don't think it was just classic denial stage... I mean inside I genuinely felt she was wrong.

Your body knows. Its so crazy how we trust some doctor to tell us about our body when its our fucking body. Since all that, its amazing how many ailments I've had where instead of going to the doctor right away, I take time to carefully monitor myself, unconscious habits, positions we sit or sleep in, what I eat, activity levels etc and eventually figure things out.

That doctor was an alarmist, she kept sending us/kids to specialists every time, saying it might be something huge/serious. My son had to wear a heart monitor for like 72 hours once because she thought something was wrong with his heart. Nope, nothing. He is healthy. Fuck that doctor

THAT'S no healthy, freaking people out like that and making them think they have this or that

We need to take our regular health and wellness back in our own hands.

In my opinion, the whole of western culture is totally twisted when it comes to death.

We are told in all our movies and entertainment that death is the absolute worst thing ever; scary images, always a threat to the protagonist, and the ultimate justice for the bad guys in the end.

We fight it to the bitter end, and see it as a tragedy. Medicine Industry is like a 'War on Death' constantly trying to elude it, prolong it, fight it, stop it.

Technology strives to overcome it, whether by cryogenics, artifical/regenerative organ stem cell stuff, organ transplants, etc.

We pretend it won't happen to us, and ignore the reality that it happens to each and every one of us.

I think this is really fucked up. Death is part of Life. I don't mean that in a cheesy way, I mean it is literally part of what it means to exist. It is part of this journey, and it puts all our living moments into a grand perspective. If there is any sort of life after death, it is a spectacular and absolutely crucial part of what we are. etc etc If we love life and humanity we need to also embrace this side of the coin, in fact in many ways it is precisely what makes the living days so precious

Its boggling to me how afraid we are culturally about a very essence of ourselves. Its like being terrified of you own left foot lol. IMO we should prepare for it well, make peace with its reality and face it with as much wisdom as we can. When the time comes don't freak out and panic, we may attempt to treat it to a degree but after a point its time to have courage and begin the transformation imo, not make yourself sick trying to escape it to the bitter end.

I have had digestion issues since I moved to Hong Kong. I am just not compatible with a Hong Kong diet...Yet. I think I'll get there eventually.

I hardly eat any bread here. Quite a bit of rice. Potatoes only once in a while. Quite a lot of veggies and beef, pork, chicken. The daughter doesn't like any seafood and both the daughter and wife don't like fish, so I don't get a lot of either of those, quite a bit of noodles, usually Udon.

I'm trying to eat more fruit. Dragonfruit is delicious and mangoes are fucking awesome. I got to get into that more I think.

The oranges are good here too. There's something about the apples I don't like though. Give me Nova Scotia apples any day. Hong Kong apples suck.

The Mohicans had this one right. Search Native Wisdom sometime if you're bored. They really understood life and the Earth, straight up.

Live your life to the fullest, hopefully never in fear of death. Death is guaranteed. Life is short.

I know you're in Hong Kong. I've considered it part of China, lately especially.

I'm not sure it's lenient there.
