Porters

Postby Masato » Tue Nov 21, 2017 3:43 pm

Hey all

So today at work I'm designing a beer label with a stylized image of an oldschool train station porter.

Doing some research and finding some really cool photos, check this window in another world

These were real people with lives and thoughts and drams etc. So trippy

Make sure you use a black porter, maybe some chains and a whip?

We used to have a little black neighborhood here in Vancouver called Hogan's Alley. It was so small most people didn't know it existed but it was down by the train station in the East End and it was probably there where it was because the porters lived there. Close to work. It was bulldozed in the early seventies to put in the Dunsmuir and Georgia viaducts which were part of an aborted freeway system that would have seen much of Chinatown bulldozed as well. My ping pong movie would possibly have featured this as one of the back stories.
