This was a big hit in England in 1970 but unknown outside of it. Benwahwah said he remembers it...

if you lump it all together; well you got a recipe for a getalong scene

Canuckster they do this in the workplace too, its a national day thing not just for schools. At work you bring in a dish from your national cuisine.
Here's the kicker, the kids can wear orange if they dont have any traditional garb.
Before my family court slaughter of the gaedok and Korean migration agent who rote learned his way through a law degree (that was a brag I confirm) their mother chose their outfits my kids went dressed in these..
Daughter
This year with dad at the helm this is what lil vutu went dressed in
My daughter is a prefect now so she only got dressed up for her leading role in the harmony play, she played a vietnamese girl living here after the vietnam war lol
That convict costume caused quite a stir, literally no one at the school besides the principle and two or three dads talk to me, Im the most hated person in the school community by far
Edit - I picked the white model for cultural appropriation purposes BTW

Hmm, did I really say I remembered this? I sure don’t remember it now. Are you confusing it with either of these two by any chance?

Yeah I posted it it a few years ago and I could have sworn that you said you were familiar with it. Of course not from 1970; perhaps from oldies format radio.
It's okay though; I love me some pure hokum

Think of the kid Vutu. That would be emotionally scarring...

Do it!
I remember when my brother was seven or eight years old (I would have been five years older) they had a sports themed party at school and he didn’t really have a sports outfit.
I managed to convince both my mum and him that he should use my sisters gymnastics leotard and go as the Russian gymnast Olga Korbut. He had eye-liner on and everything. I still laugh my head off to this day just thinking about it.
