a rolling stone gathers no moss grasshopper.

Going more regularly these days...

Its downright humiliating, lol. Every class I start to realize how little I know.

I've been out for almost 10 years, my club is doing all this newschool shit I never seen before. I learned oldschool sort of Gracie/no-gi MMA style wrasslin. These guys are flipping upside down and doing all this crazy open guard/inverted shit.

I'm rolling with a lot of purple belts and they absolutely own me non-stop, tapping me at will with things I don't even understand, lol

I really feel like after all the years of doing a bit here a bit there that I don't know nuthin

- 10 years is a lot of time to take off the mats, you lost your atlhetic ability, isn't that you don't know, is that your body can't react fast enought, you lost you'r coordenation.
Just keep going, try to add strenght training too.

Recently been mistaken for a blue belt for 2 no-gi classes in a row :)

People say: you're a blue belt, right? or; "What are you, blue?"

I am much better at no-gi than gi. As soon as mofos start grabbing the collar or whatever I just get lost. Too many variables for this dusted mind to keep track of, lol

Making slow progress. I just wish I had more time in my lifestyle to train :( I am getting once or twice a week at best, other times a whole week goes by. Between work and kids, and a business owner for a wife, man there ain't many windows.

My club has daytime classes though 12 noon to 1pm. I have been going mostly to these, they're great I just slip in while most people are on lunch. Much nicer to train than the evenings for me, too.

Good stuff! I always comparatively sucked at gi, even though before BJJ I had Greco and Judo experience. Last time I rolled at a club nobody wore belts which was nice. I reckon I could hang with most purples in no-gi. Throw a gi on and I'm a fuckin whitebelt.

no gi is the great equalizer.

I reckon so. Get away with so many technical mistakes without gi. It's kind of like bareknuckle vs gloves.
