K-1 World GP coming up in a few days

On June 24th, in our time zone it should start around 4am. I'm stoked!

Left to right:

Hideaki "The Golden Fist" Yamazaki -winner of 2016 K-1 Japanese GP. Former Krush champion.

Renita Stanislav - Current champion of King of Kings, Eastern Europe's biggest kickboxing promotion.

Ilias Bulaid - Moroccan Dutch phenom. Only 21 years old but has hundreds of fights. Champion of Enfusion Kickboxing.

Chris Mauceri - One of the top guys from Lion Fight, America's biggest Muay Thai promotion. Coming off a big KO win.

Massaro Glunder - Surinamese phenom, son of legend Rodney Glunder. He gave the current champion a very tough fight.

Masaaki Noiri - Young Japanese star who was the best in Japan until he lost a very close decision to Yamazaki. Former Krush champion.

Kaew Fairtex - Current K-1 champion, former Lumpinee stadium champion. A living legend.

Hiroya - Japanese beast who loves to brawl.

Any other karatekas besides Noiri?

I dont think I have ever seen kickboxing on TV. I always just stream the events and hook my laptop up to the tv. There are always Russian pirates streaming the events.

- They used to show K1 on cable tv.I wanted the huge public to see what karate is all about, because that horrible Karate kid movies they think the art is a joke.

Thank`s for Van Damme and Chuck Norris movies for giving respect the art deserve.
But the karate kid stigma still around even today.

But the music of the movie was good.

Ohh, and Lyoto of course.

Prelims start at 3am, main card starts at 4am. There will be a free stream on Abema TV(a Chinese website) which can be accessed with Hola, a free extension that can make your IP address Chinese.

Also K-1 just announced they will be adding new weight classes later this year.

Damn I forgot that Takeru vs Ozawa Kaito was also on this card. Takeru is their 55KG champion, Kaito is the Krush 56KG champion and they hate each other. They were doing a press conference thing about a month about and they got into a brawl while all dressed up. Around 8:30 mark:






Top ranked Brazilian Philip Kimuru will also be fighting.

Weigh ins:






Yamazaki looked really dehydrated.
