Ryan Bader’s first title defense is official.
“Darth" is set to take on Linton Vassell on Nov. 3, when Bellator 186 takes place at the Bryce Jordan Center in University Park, Pennsylvania. MMA Fighting confirmed the news following a report by PennLive.
Phil Davis and Ed Ruth are also set to compete at the card, but the promotion has yet to announce their opponents.
Bader (23-5) defeated Davis via split decision to claim the light heavyweight championship last June at Madison Square Garden in New York, winning his Bellator debut after leaving the UFC on a two-fight winning streak.
Vassell (19-5, 1 no-contest) gets his second shot at the belt after winning three in a row, capped off by a third-round submission over Liam McGeary in May. “The Swarm” won seven out of nine bouts in the Bellator cage.
