Brazilian featherweight Sheymon Moraes inked a deal with the UFC, MMA Fighting has confirmed with sources close to the situation. Combate first reported the news.
Moraes knocked out five opponents en route to a 9-1 professional record since his professional MMA debut in 2012. The only blemish in his record came in 2015, when he lost via submission to Marlon Moraes for the WSOF bantamweight title.
One of the assistant coaches on Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira’s team on The Ultimate Fighter Brazil 2, Moraes has no date set yet for his Octagon debut.
Moraes hasn't fought since June 2016, months before he entered a long battle with World Series of Fighting officials to get released from his contract.
The Black House talent, who turns 27 next week, will enter the UFC cage on a two-fight winning streak over Robbie Peralta and Luis Palomino.
