Aung La N Sang to defend ONE middleweight title vs. Ken Hasegawa in June

By Alexander K. Lee @AlexanderKLee May 23, 2018

Aung La N Sang is looking to continue his reign in his home country.

“The Burmese Python” has been booked to defend his ONE Championship middleweight title ONE: Spirit Of A Warrior on June 29 at the Thuwunna Indoor Stadium in Yangon, Myanmar, officials announced Wednesday. Sang won the title last June in a rematch with Vitaly Bigdash via unanimous decision and his first challenger will be Ken Hasegawa, a star in Japan’s DEEP promotion who will be making his ONE debut.

Since becoming 185-pound champion, Sang (22-10, 1 NC) has picked up a pair of first-round victories fights outside of the division, submitting heavyweight Alain Ngalani and then knocking out Alexandre Machado to add the vacant ONE light heavyweight championship to his collection.

Hasegawa (16-2-1) has won four of his last five fights, with three of those victories coming by way of first-round finish. This past February, he submitted Genpei Hayashi with an arm-triangle choke in round one.

God that fight was so inactive. 10x more feints than strikes. They both respected each other too much, or maybe they just didn't know how to deal with the others style.

R1 - draw
R2 - draw
R3 - draw
R4 - draw
R5 - Till

Mark Godbeer and Luis Henrique move down to light heavyweight, fight at UFC Sao Paulo

By Guilherme Cruz @guicruzzz Jun 25, 2018

Two fighters will cut to light heavyweight and collide at the upcoming UFC Sao Paulo card on Sept. 22 as Mark Godbeer meets Luis Henrique in Brazil, MMA Fighting confirmed following a report by Combate.

Former BAMMA heavyweight champion Godbeer (13-4) last fought in March, when he lost to Dmitriy Sosnovskiy via second-round submission at UFC London. The defeat snapped Godbeer’s two-fight winning streak over Walt Harris and Daniel Spitz in the Octagon.

Henrique (10-4, 1 no-contest) looks to get back on track following losses to Marcin Tybura and Arjan Bhullar in 2017. “KLB”, who holds a 2-3 record since signing with the UFC in 2015, was originally booked to face Timothy Johnson in February but was forced out of the card due to a biceps injury.

The UFC has yet to announce which fight will headline the event at the Ibirapuera gymnasium in Sao Paulo. The company’s plan was to match up top middleweights Ronaldo Souza and Dave Branch in the five-round main event, but “Jacare” is not interested.
