Hey all
Our man Ayrshire Grappler posted this on Twitter... had to hespect
This is the underappreciated and mostly unknown part of MMA history, yet IMO it is maybe the real birth of the sport, where the real magic was starting to sprout. These were hard fights for their day, amazing warriors with courage to step into a world that was still not yet defined.
I think this is the event that CHOKE was made from. Some good stuff in here.
Have a spliff and get in your Delorean, travel back in time when the world was just BEGINNING to explore the idea of MMA. See these pioneers, watch Rickson set the pace, and enjoy some real special history:
Japan Vale Tudo '94 FULL (Rickson etc)
It reality its a bit silly considering Rickson was already a vale tudo HW champion having defeated Rei Zulu a few years prior. The only people in the world who could have challenged him at that time were the Combat Sambo guys, buy they are notoriously isolationist.
