Character Designs for my Trilogy Project

Postby Masato » Fri Jun 30, 2017 4:58 pm

Hey all

So some of you know I've been writing a Trilogy of feature screenplays, been writing them slowly for almost 15 years now. Was my motivation to get cleaned up and go back to school, study animation etc. My #1 creative muse under all the other more silly things I make.

Anyways the writing is finally done, at least good enough to pitch. So now I'm working on concept art and a website to help pitch it.

Here is some of the first stuff, some character designs. These are unfinished I'd still like to shade them and maybe experiment with some other costume versions but you get the idea.

Trying to decide a style to do the concept art is proving really hard. I don't want to get too specific, nor do I want to try to make absolutely stunning artwork for everything cause it would take too long. I hope I'm starting to find a style that is efficient for me to create, is not over-developed, yet captures enough to communicate what's in my head.

Hey why are the images re-sizing? Weird, sometimes they re-size and sometimes not... Gotta look into that.

all these character lineups should be the same size :(

- I like the character desingn. They look like early 2000's cartoon's.
Steven Sagal layout is awesome.

^ thanks.

Everything I've learned about the film industry says I have no chance, lol

However a classmate of mine from animation school recently got his film pitch picked up and produced at a major-level budget so that's kind of inspiring. I will rely on luck, fate, some hard work, and perhaps a little help from the Kitsune ;)

How else can a dream come true if we don't have faith in it?

- Pretty sure the Ninja Turtles where a crazy concept 30 years ago, too!

Its not the concept that is crazy... I feel the concept is really accessible, everyone so far who's read any of them liked it right away. I really see no reason why lots of people of many ages wouldn't enjoy this story. What's crazy is getting anyone with the ability to make them to have a good look at them and consider producing them. THAT is crazy, if you are like me on the outside and who thinks Hollywood is run by Satanists lol
