I don't get it..?

I really enjoyed the 1st one, but if I recall, the last bit of the film was him going on about 'choose life' as a positive thing. He was getting off the junk, and looking forward to choosing all the things he rejected before when he was a junkie.

So now in T2, he's getting sour about it all? Sick of it, wanting to maybe go back to the heroin?

In what ways do you see this speech as 'on point'?

Choose life.

I see it as a reflection on what the norm is life. Chose the norm, fit in, don't think, don't be curious, just exist, be the same, Choose life.

That's why I think it is on point. As he describes how we the viewer / reader have chosen life (in the context of chose the norm) and the characters in the story have not.

They chose "life", a collection of experiences out with the norm.
