Today I found a tongue-in-cheek website which has compiled a massive list of bible verses that they say prove the Abrahamic god is a volcano lol While I doubt they are serious and are probably fedora neckbeards, it is very striking just how common the imagery of fire is around Yahweh. I have read countless religious inscriptions from Mesopotamia at a contemporary time, and I never saw any god who was quite so firey. The matter is a bit complicated by the fact that lightning is called "fire from the sky" in Akkadian, and I think Ashur throws some lightning from time to time. But anyways, an interesting find:

Its pretty shocking how prominent fire is in the imagery of Yahweh
Interesting!
Makes me think of Prometheus, and the Fire he brings to mankind, where the Fire is a metaphor for 'knowledge of good and evil', like the apple in the Garden of Eden.
Also supports my recent/loose theory that the Hebrew God is actually Lucifer/Satan, or perhaps even Baal.

Yahweh would have certainly been strongly influenced by Ba'al. It literally just means "lord" in Canaanite. Im no bible scholar but I bet "lord" is a common epithet for him.
Prometheus. Also, fire is what crossed us over from ape to man.
