Assange Interviewed by Ron Paul

Postby Masato » Fri May 19, 2017 3:20 pm

Solid talk.

Interesting Assange saying that the way the laws are shifting, that it is becoming more and more difficult for anyone to do any real independent journalism or information-gathering.

Difference between journalists and intelligence, etc/ connections to sources etc. Intelligence can do it, but if journalists do there are all kinds of espionage charges now that fuck it up.

Gone are the days of Lois Lane being given carte blanche to find the hottest scoop she can

He also said that the news about Trump's admin going after Assange is not accurate, explains that these were orders already in motion under Obama that were inherited to the Trump admin

Too bad Dr. Paul is getting so crotchety, lol I still think he's pretty great :D

Assange and Wikileaks imo are very often really great

But it still bothers me a lot that he/they never really went anywhere into 9/11 investigations. They just kind of avoided that whole issue, as if it was a little issue without 100,000 leads and trails of breadcrumbs to follow.

Also this freaks me the fuck out, lol:

It was interesting to see Assange on the balcony after his charges were dropped, looking very real and alive.
