Genius is a rare thing, and some countries seem to have it more than others.
According to data obtained from Mensa, Finland has the most geniuses per capita, followed by Sweden and the United Kingdom.
Mensa was founded in 1946 to create a "society for bright people, the only qualification for membership of which was a high IQ," according to its website. Today, it is comprised of people whose IQ is in the top 2 percent of the population.
People must test in to be accepted, and the testing fee varies by country. For example, Finland's fee to take a supervised test into Mensa is 40 euros (about $45), the fee to get the test evaluated is another 40 euros, and the annual membership fee is 40 euros. By contrast, Ireland's fee to test is 30 euros if supervised, 14 euros if not, 12 euros for the test evaluation fee and 60 euros for the the annual membership fee.

I call bullshit on Ireland at #6. Those paddies are dumber than flips. Well, almost.

Could Mensa itself be culturally biased?
I remember some talk a few decades ago that the sort of questions on IQ tests etc were of a nature that certain groups would score higher or lower just because of cultural context etc, and weren't really a fair cross-cultural test of raw intelligence

Sounds like something black lives matter would say.
People say they all want the truth, but when they are confronted with a truth that disagrees with them, they balk at it as if it were an unwanted zombie apocalypse come to destroy civilization.

Many people say that, but you'll be hard-pressed to find a real question that is 'culturally' biased. When people give you examples of biased questions, they'll use out-there hypotheticals of what a culturally biased question COULD look like, not actual test questions that are.
There are IQ tests in circulation now that use NO LANGUAGE whatsoever. It's all pattern recognition. It probably favors Visio-Spacial intelligence, but regardless, people get about the same scores on these as they do other intelligence tests.
Cultural context could also mean nature of the education/curriculum in different parts of the world... any question is easier if you've seen similar type stuff in school, and did years of exercise of a similar nature. Take some people who were raised with a different sort of education or lifestyle who has never seen such things and they will likely appear slower
I'm just hypothesizing, there have been many 'tests' over the ages to try to determine superiority of one group over another, and they are usually devised by the superior group, lol

^ for example, that sample you posted I am guessing was designed to be read left to right...
How would this question appear to someone who has been taught to read right < left? Or a Japanese who will read not only right to left but also vertically!
Also curious what constitutes a ‘genius’, and if you need to score well on all parts of the test or not to qualify
