My favorite metroidvannia style game was Demons Crest for SNES. Explore the underworld as an outcast Gargoyle demon dude, hear the locals talk about how Hell was better run during the age of Lucifer, collect elemental gems for powerups, explore the secret areas, and face the final boss. Maybe not as challenging as Castlevannia but just as fun.

I have a jaguar system with Cd, my house was broken into a number of years back and most of my jaguar collection was taken. Including my tempest 2000, which bums me out to this day,

I loved Gargoyle Quest 1 and 2 and I'm sure I will love Demon Crest when I eventually get to it. Next on my bucket list is Battletoads in Battlemania.

The difference is like Mario 1 & Mario 3 to Super Mario World.

Post back here when you do finally play it.

I have. I set it up using retropie. Overall I found it fairly easy to use. For SNES, Genesis/Megadrive, and down it is absolutely flawless running them.

It is a very neat little setup.
