What I've been up to

Postby Masato » Wed Nov 12, 2014 11:59 am

What's RL stuff? (edit; Real Life stuff?)

I also think the change to making it a 'UFC-only' front page sub-forum may have backfired a bit. Before it was just 'Pictures and Multimedia', which meant anything goes. Now, if you find a cool 'picture or multimedia' that isn't MMA-related, where does it go? Its not allowed anywhere really except the wasteland. They just narrowed the community to a bare minimum, and left 80% of it out to die.

Times change, its no surprise to see the rise and fall of forums over the years... but with the all the shit that led to my banning its my opinion that the whole shoop community was never managed right from the beginning by the mods. They contained us in a little cell, and then when their Gestapo policing finally pissed everyone off, they tried to kiss everyone's ass by making the new sub-forum and it came off wrong.

Sherdog mods are all backwards, man. Running me out right while I was at my peak of productivity (comic + Tournament) was like shooting themselves in the foot. They should have promoted the shit out of that tournament, they would have gained epic numbers of viewers. Instead they treated us like unwanted hooligans lol

I feel privileged to have been there during the glory years. There was a time when it was really something special.

Who knows? - maybe this place can have its day in the sun one day too (and then die, lol)

the straight enamel out of a spray can that you are using will take forever to dry the way you're doing it.

Go to an automotive paint shop and get them to mix you a custom can of spray paint. This paint will be flat and need a clear coat. This will solve your problems as I have had to replace body panels in the past and do this very thing, the end result will be well worth it.

Yeah, unfortunately I found this out after I had sprayed it. I was hoping there would be a way to dry it as is. I don't understand why they sell it if it doesn't dry.

This project is just going to sit for a while anyways, I've moved on to making a coffee table.

Ya, rl is real life. I agree the mods power trippin limited the potential. Not sure how much of that was their own dickishness and how much was them upholding status quo out of laziness, fear of being demoded or not wanting to capitulate to peons like us out of pride.

I was hoping to have a big reveal by now on what I've been working on, unfortunately I have had never ending problems with the paint I've been using.

Everyone knows by now that last year I made that battleship out of wood. This year I set off to make a car out of wood. I like many cars both old and new, but I decided on a 1970 Dodge Challenger T/A due to it seemingly being easier than modern cars that have much more complex shapes in their design. I was wrong about it being easy, as even with a fairly simple design, it has been very hard to capture the details.
