superCalo wrote:as a child we did not have television let alone the electrical power to make one work, so we did pantomimes at the dining room table to amuse ourselves. Pretty soon the whole neighbourhood became involved the pantos used to go on for hours, many a hearty chuckle was had let me tell you.
But sadly it ended when Pablo's family got a television, all the kids started hanging out at his place leaving our table empty, barren just like my unfertile mule. I never went to Pablos house, I was too ashamed of what had been lost, sadly his tv was later destroyed when his house accidentally burnt down. Pablo survived but we never let him back for the family pantomimes, those were gone forever like our youthful dreams.
This is such a tragedy. The next Marcel Marceau might have emerged from that dinner table. Or maybe a Senor Wences.
Or, perhaps more realistically, considering the local diet, the next Le Petomane.

SuperCalo's tale not getting enough hespect here, that was top class literature right there
LOL @ Flatus's posts being all pacific coast - I grew up in a sub of Vancouver, we got all the KOMO/KVOS channels too... (Did you ever watch Almost Live?)
I don't remember signoffs too much, but do you guys remember 'This is a test of the Emergency Broadcast System'? I just searched for it, and though I couldn't find one that is familiar, I see that like the signoffs, each station also had their own unique graphics for this EBS test sequence
