Just something Ive observed is that that people that make vids making fun of ufc owners or down talking the ufc get their stuff taken down. Kind of common sense, but I noticed when researching why some accounts get taken down while others are not bothered. If you talk shit on a business or person, you are attacking their money. If youre attacking their money they have a reason to focus on attacking back. You are lowering their image in the eyes of impressionable poelple. Just a little warning for when the funny ideas of poking fun pop up in your minds. I know sherdog has cultivated a lot of creativity from making fun of people so its easy to fall into that creativity trap of easy laughs. Exposure is worth money, so a watermark that goes viral could put somebodies name on the map for free. Asking for exposure on things made from the peoples images thats the ufc owns is kinda like showing up to help paint a house without being asked to help paint the house. Its their house that they built, so they can paint whatever they want over your painted area that they never asked for
With all that said, I dont think it would hurt their business to keep a watermark on photoshopped stuff. Maybe its legal issues or they just have a zero tolerance for advertising anything or anyone that is not officially affiliated with the ufc. Making it more known without directly attacking the ufc would be the best route, so it becomes generally frowned upon by the public or you might end up with the ufc taking everything down connected to you
Would you rather Dana shared your stuff without a watermark or not share it at all. Could be worse, but could also be better
The D Cormier thing was whack though. Didnt they learn anything from the Kenny Flo incident. I think the fighters also have some rules about giving credit to people for stuff but im not sure
Give without expectation, and it usually comes back to you somehow. Just not always in the form expected
Public service announcements might be something. Have to get a big part of the public to express a want for artists watermarks and credit to be shown. Tread lightly. Getting their attention is easy and they arent doing anything illegal. Technically we probably shouldnt be photoshopping anything ufc related, but I wonder what a internet wide pic, gif, highlight, and shoop strike would be like.
I take no sides but Im on both sides
Not-Crediting MMA artists gone too far (Zombie Prophet, etc)
