Still have to tie them to the beams. Most of the heavy lifting on this job is over...

Faggot ass Parma made me dig 42 inch holes. The frost line in Ohio is 32 inches. Most cities around here make you dig 36 inches for your footers. The common post hole digger for a 12-16 inch diameter hole is only effective up to 36 inches deep.

Setting your footers below the frost line is done to prevent a situation known as frost heaving. Parma is fucking gay and it makes me wonder about places like Minnesota and Vermont that have crazy deep frost lines.

Surely they don't dig holes that deep just to build a deck. I just really hate the government.

An 80 inch hole would have to be like 4 ft wide.

As you go north, clearly, at some point, local governments stop caring.
