I wouldn't be able to tell since I drink every day. I'd assume it hinders physical recovery of any kind.

^I am of the opinion that 'the drink' is rather like a type of medicine; in the right amount(moderation) it is healing and in the wrong amount(excess) it is harmful

I tend to agree. Probably great for mental recovery. Doubt it aids with the physical side though.

It fucks you on every level from test levels to bone density to quality of sleep/no REM so fuck all recovery at all
