MMA Documentary Fundraising I made a Poster/Logo for:

Postby Masato » Thu Sep 04, 2014 9:56 am

Hey all

I am really proud to have done some work for this project (I made the poster and a logo for it):

HILL OF CHAMPIONS: The Sons of Santo Amaro - 'A film about MMA, the Favelas, and Fighting for a better future'

PLEASE go check out his fundraising site... he has put a ton of work and heart into this, and there's no turning back now:
(+ there's a Masato Toys logo at the end!! :) )

VIDEO and more:
https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/hill-of-champions

-Dude has Jose Aldo and Renan Barao signed to be a part of it, as they are good friends with the crew in Santa Amaro. Amazing, Amazing project. Can't wait to see it finished

Anyways, here is the poster I designed for it. A lot of specific direction from the producer... we couldn't go too artsy, he wanted to make sure all the major elements of the film were super clear so everyone knows right away what it's about. This was trickier than I thought! I think it came together in the end...

Here is the logo I created, also with some good direction from the producer (talented dude) - originally it was just supposed to be a T-Shirt design, but I see its being used as a logo too - they even did a little animated bit with it in the video (see link above ^)

This is the 2nd MMA movie-poster I've done.

The first I made like 6 years ago for a film I don't even know if it ever got made, lol:

I remember I had SHIT for photo reference to use. They took pics of the 2 main actors in someone's backyard with a crappy camera. Heads were cropped off, no lighting etc lol

those are awesome dude, cool shit.
People say they all want the truth, but when they are confronted with a truth that disagrees with them, they balk at it as if it were an unwanted zombie apocalypse come to destroy civilization.

- This poster is very good.

I posted on the original thread on sherdog, life is the biggest battle a man faces, the one in the ring is simple, romantic, would be good if the life battles were like this?

Some of the people on the documentary will rise to became, champions, maybe on a octagon or a mat, some in life.
But the reallity of Brasil, it's the governament don't care, they all lie whem the electoral campaing begins, after that they all forget.
And people became just a statistic number.

It's good to see that there are people wanting to do something about, even with every odd against then.

I grew up, and a lost some friends to the crime life too.

My friend Flavio used to play Batman with me.:)
He still alive, but he isn't the same boy of my childrenhood.

The boy died a decade ago, i blame his mom.
It's all her fault, the grandparents rised a good boy.

- I can't see where you comin' from
But I know just what you runnin' from
And what matters ain't the "who's baddest" but
The ones who stop you fallin' from your ladder

And you feel like you feelin' now
Doin' things just to please your crowd
But I love you like the way I love you
And I suffer, but i ain't gonna cut you cos
I see where you comin' from'

He used to come in my house to watch Batman the animated series and Masters of the universe.

A flyer I scrambled together last night at 1am for the project.. these will be printed off on card stock I am supposing

Crowdfunding looks hard, man. I don't envy his task to market this thing.
