LIFE DRAWING Vids from the Pros

Postby Masato » Sat Oct 18, 2014 7:30 pm

Hey all...

Lifedrawing is one the more enjoyable, frustrating, technical and magical things I've experienced. It is a strange impossible science, where there are techniques but no real rules. The only way to do it is a real blending of left and right brain - where you 'feel' things intuitively without the brain, yet at the same time applying all the rules of form, composition, value and anatomy.

This thread is dedicated to actual live Lifedrawing demos from proven masters of the artform.

This guy is esteemed as one of the best teachers, having worked as an animator at Disney and WB... now he teaches at his own school.

enjoy:

This video he seems to have no model, which is impressive in itself, and maybe more economical for teaching things because the students isn't getting hung up on comparing, but rather just on what he is demonstrating.

I've been so inspired lately I think I'm gonna sign up and start going to lifedrawing again for a while.

After art school I stopped for like 10 years... then I went back and really enjoyed it, then stopped again.

I do this with BJJ too, I stop for long periods and then have short little flashes of excitement to go back. Go figure
