A couple of things stand out...
It was captivating news when he was on the run. In large part because so much of what makes news is fake and scripted and written and edited by brainwashed mongoloids that it's rare when an actual thing makes news.
It generated enough headlines that reality TV personality Dog the Bountyhunter capitalized on it. Going on news programs and steering the spotlight towards himself... which backfired.
A lot of mma fighters use their social media presence to score low hanging fruit. Koppenhaver did it effectively and it made some dudes really mad on the internet. His social media is now mostly bible verses.
Mack is going to testify and the prosecutor (not the defense) has introduced that she liked to be choked to unconsciousness during sex.
The guy victim has already testified that they were dating rather than engaging in prostitution. If that isn't true, Mack's testimony can be a real liability for the prosecution.
