I just read the wiki of this Pagan warrior prince, and man, this stuff makes Conan the Barbarian seem like nothing:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sviatoslav_I_of_Kiev
TL;DR: Rus warrior prince refuses to convert to Christianity even though his mother was Christian and the Byzantines were pressuring him to. Defeats and destroys numerous nomadic warrior confederations/empires, at times helped the Byzantines, at others was at war with them, ultimately the Byzantines plotted to hire Turkic warrior nomads to ambush him and kill him, after which his skull was made into a chalice.
Imagine living in a time anything like this lol
Hail Sviatoslav, your glory lives forever!
Cattle die,
kinsmen die,
you and I will die the same.
I know one thing that never dies,
The reputation of a dead man's deeds.

Don't be selfish, preserve this world for the next generations.
I'll never long for what might have been
Regret won't waste my life again
I won't look back I'll fight to remain
