My favourite UG Shooper is in tha House!! (Welcome ruDj!)

Postby Masato » Wed May 21, 2014 6:37 pm

Hey all - I JUST noticed now that ruDj has signed up!!

This guy is my favourite shooper from the UG forum. Dude is FAST as hell and very funny/creative.

I tried to get him to toss his name in for the IFSC a while back but couldn't sway him... super stoked to see him here, I hope he sticks around/shares some of his work

WELCOME ruDj!!

Here are a few quick samples, certainly not his best (the UG has pretty weak search functions + I'm too tired to go hunting lol)

Hopefully he'll come and post some of his faves.

Basically his work is all super fast, he just knocks out the jokes quick. If someone starts a shoop thread (UGers call them Romos lol), ruDj shows up and just fills it with jokes.

Lord knows what he could do if he put some time into things :)

PS: ruDj, if you are seeing this... is this you? http://www.rudj.com/ I've worked as an illustrator for advertising ADs/CDs for 14 years, if this is you we have more in common than shoops/romos :)

Later skaters

^^ Creative people in the advertising world is a very sad phenomenon imo

I work with them every day - they are some of the most creatively skilled people you are likely to meet, but (much like me) their time and energy is all full working on crap ad ideas for lame products they don't give a fuck about. Rarely these people are even able to pitch their own ideas for ads, they have to work within mind-bogglingly limited guidelines.

If these people could be set free they would be making amazing stuff no doubt. That is why I always encourage people to keep making our kind of silly things on the side; we have to keep nurturing that pure creative energy, we can't let it get sucked out of us completely. Even if its just for fun or you don't have the time to push your skills, its still good for you, and will probably make your work in the professional world better
