people often say this but when I take the public transport or compare the architecture to other countries I'm just not seeing it. I was just reading a Lance Armstrong book and although he's a Texan himself he remarked how going for training rides outside of Austin they called it "Redneckville" and were regularly menaced by hicks in their pick-up trucks
