Tour De France

Postby theraskal » Sun Jun 11, 2023 10:24 pm

just finished watching the first episode of the Tour De France series on Netflix as the GF and I get ready for our annual tradition of watching the TDF!

The Netflix program was well done, very entertaining, highly recommend to check it out!

Usually I wouldn't be interested, but your enthusiasm was contagious enough for me to press PLAY and check some of it out.

Then the very first cyclist in the video was wearing a covid mask.
Then I pressed STOP

lol
covid ruins everything

I believe you that it's exciting though

did they really race with covid masks on?? LOL beyond retarded

no, the racing was done MASK free

I would imagine the race to be very taxing to the immune system though, so there was probably some reasonable attempt to manage the spreading of germs

I don't feel the MASK should have been FORCED nor am I a militant Anti-Masker. Although I am a normal somewhat "fit" looking fellow I have history of advanced stage cancer diagnosis and so like Mr. Mel Gibson, I had a rather rough time with the Covid and so would not judge anyone for wearing the MASK when out and about just as I have observed people in Japan have been doing for years, like Mr. Brad Pitt also observed:

.....I would also like to add that unlike Mr. Gibson I talked my way out of being kept in the hospital

Doctor: "I've never let a patient go in your condition....your heart is bad and your lungs are the worst I've seen"

Me: tells doctor I can eat better foods at home, herbs/supplements, teas, cider-vinegar, that kind of thing......more comfortable, can listen to my healing meditative music, that kind of thing.....

Doctor: "I can't believe I'm doing this"(has me sign papers and lets me go)

later contemplation: I probably should have stayed in the hospital but I was more comfortable at home....it was very touch and go though

part of the reason i need to be at home is due to health issues that are hard to explain to doctors. They have a degree in treating disease but I have a degree in experience of living with it and the after-effects

all very sensible to me.

hospitals are terrible places for health, holistically anyways

I would like to mention that the cancer I have suffered was not a result of smoking and that my lungs were damaged by the treatments and not due to a smoking habit.

just prior to getting diagnosed I ran a "sub-6" 5k where it felt like I was running with a plastic bag tied around my head. Soon after I was diagnosed and the X-ray revealed cancer location in chest among other places was causing obstruction due to pushing against the lungs or something like that

one can observe many healthy looking people like Patrick Swayze, Andy Whitfield, and Lance Armstrong suffering the misfortune of illness

I later read somewhere that Lance Armstrong chose to avoid radiation as part of treatment options because of potential damage to lungs. This is not to suggest one treatment is worse than another, and each affects people in different ways

not seeking GFMs and NEVER will use forums for that, simply sharing to spread some AWARENESS

people sometimes have this impression that illness is self-induced through poor lifestyle habits and yet there are plenty of Prosperously Proportioned Portly people who live long lives and/or Drug Addicts who managed not to suffer such illness....and then there are the Bruce Lees...Patrick Swayzes....Andy Whitfields....and Lance Armstrongs.....
