Friday session didnt go as well as I thought it would. Possible reasons - all I had eaten going into the work out was carbs, which I thought should be fine but maybe at a certain point it becomes a problem. Also possible my warm up wasnt heavy enough. But anyways, I go for sets of 5 at 255(116kg) and during the first set my technique/positioning drifted a bit too far towards the sternum and after 4 reps I could feel that I was going to fail the 5th so I focused on regaining my bearings and it worked and I got the last rep. Very clearly this was harder than I expected and taxed my body more than expected, because after that I could only get sets of 2 reps. Not sure if I am doing something wrong or just my gains are temporarily slowing down for no reason. Or maybe I am only now seeing the true limits of the strength I gained in my previous program. Anyways, a bit of a setback but I will push onward as always. Another issue was that during my cooldown I got impatient and only waited 1 minute between a set at 225 and 205, which are both very easy on their own but so close together they seemed to strain my tendons, though definitely nothing major. I have to be careful though.

This is a white man's version of what I do, by that I mean a bit more planned out

I cant think of why anyone would not use the basic split of squat/bench/dead/OHP if their time permitted

Squats went well today. It seems like a big part of squatting is making sure you have fully recovered from the last session.

Bench went well yesterday. I got 3 sets of 5 at 255. The last set of the last rep I would have failed if my core wasnt stabilized. Ive noticed going to 5 reps the small amount the weight shifts me along the bench can add up over the reps, which has been straining my bicep tendons. To mitigate this I held the bar a bit higher, and it worked. It didnt seem to irritate the rotator cuff at the time, but the next day they are indeed sore. I guess all I can do is keep up the balancing act and try my best to recover properly. The other thing about this session is I was totally wrecked for my cooldown.

So now my plan is to do Arnold's bench workout, but the problem is there are 3 sections where he discusses it but only specifies the weight jumps in one of those sections - which is his section on supersets. Following this program basically there is only one working set, because the rest are at least 20 lbs lower and doing a few more reps isnt going to make that hard. This can be explained because its part of a superset and not how he would train for a bench specific session. In the other two sections he simply says add "a small amount of weight" between each set. So to make the sessions actually hard I will be interpreting this as harshly as possible - 2kg jumps between sets. This way at least 3 sets will be difficult.
