Blog vs Thread: Help me Choose!! (next project)

Hey all

Now that Sonnen's War is finished, I am psyching myself up for the next project.

This time I am going to tackle an ILLUSTRATED short graphic novel I've been planning out for a while. (I am scared to death, lol)

I want to keep a record of my journey making it... - the ups and downs, planning, inspiration, development etc.
I want to share what its like to undertake something big and scary that I've never done before... the horrible reality of facing my TRUE drawing abilities, and the discoveries I make along the way.

WHAT DO YOU THINK IS THE BEST WAY TO SHARE THIS? Blog, or Here in a thread?

What are the pros and cons of each? I have heard of people having really cool blogs of a similar nature, but I'm kind of scratching my head as to what the difference is if I just make a thread in here and update it the same way?

Please offer your insights, experiences with blogs, or any tips on which might be best for bringing views/building community

- I think a blog could even get trafic for this forum.
We know that people lurk, but they usually lurk for a long time before creating a account, i lurked sherdog for a year, i lurked this forum for a couple of months.

A blog is a good thing, i thin, i never had one, but i lurk some blogs from time to time.
Maybe the people that follow your blog can even get inspired in doing art work to.

Thanks Edge - I am leaning towards a blog as well, but having it connected to the site somehow

This venture has really renewed my interest in drawing, which has been basically dead in me for over 10 years. Those Sycra videos fucking pumped me UP... I went to a world-class animation school, there was a time where I was really operating at a relatively high level. But drawing only works as much as we practise. My illustration work is all about speed and money - a lot of crackerjack shit, a lot of photo-tracing, I developed some awful habits as far as drawing properly.

I am also really excited to explore online drawing/illustration communities.. Sycra has a forum that looks AMAZINGly inspiring, would be great to talk to different artists and share/learn/teach etc in a community.

SOME of them have to be MMA fans... right? RIGHT???

This place is like the 'El Indestructo' of various internet cultures, trying to mesh them all into one crazy creature lol

MMA is a popular sport today, i remember in my course back in 2006 few people knowing about MMA, today i see a lot of people using UFC t-shirts.

Is this new venture mma focused?

No, not at all. Has some BJJ characters in it but not much. It does take place in Brasil though, so I'm hoping to eventually market it to the Brasilian community, maybe grow some more bridges there

This is why I'm feeling a sudden need to reach out to the artistic scene more... I need some inspiration fo' sure, I'm kind of switching gears here. Also Sonnen's War got ZERO play, lol (not even 1 website featured its completion), so I'm a bit flat right now in feeling very connected to those communities... but I can't think about that, its time to move FORWARD!

Really Looking forward right now to spreading my wings into new places, I have some deep roots in the illustration world, I think its long overdue I water them.

Will still love MMA obviously and will keep making MMA jokes as I get inspired... I really love the comradery and hope this place continues... guys like FEA and EOW are really pushing the art I have become so fond of over the past decade. I love the 'comics of chaos' and the play/comedy that shoopers can create when we get on a good tangent. Most of the shoopers have been MIA for a while, hopefully they will come around again. Also great to just to yak about the fights, I will be a fan 4 life, such a great sport.

Maybe we can get some ILLUSTRATORS here too, this will be my goal for the forum over the next few months

I think creativity is sort of the lifeblood of this place (however much we are hanging by a thread, lol) -Creative people make great forum members :)
