Nova Scotia just implemented a ban on forest access province wide effective yesterday using the excuse of wildfire risk even on private property. Fines will be 25000$ per offence
This is some straight up draconian fascist bullshit.
I literally just returned from a visit there yesterday, I grew up there and we went to visit some family and my brother and I went and did some epic fishing, all of it in the forest. If we decided on this week for the trip it would have been in vain.
So what is it, is wildfire risk from humans or climate change, seems they're double stacking the deck here. I don't see how it will be enforceable, nova Scotia is a vast wilderness of rocks and trees.
