Injury forces Tyron Woodley out of Robbie Lawler rematch at UFC Minneapolis
By Jose Youngs @JoseYoungs May 17, 2019
Robbie Lawler will have to wait a little longer to look for revenge against Tyron Woodley.
Sources told MMA Fighting a hand injury will force Woodley out of his scheduled main event rematch against Lawler at UFC Minneapolis next month, confirming an initial report by ESPN.
Woodley (19-4-1), who dethroned then champion Lawler (28-13, 1 NC) at UFC 201 in July 2016, is looking to get back into the win column after seeing current champion Kamaru Usman walk away with his belt at UFC 235 in March.
Lawler, also a former EliteXC champion, is looking to right the ship after coming out on the wrong end of a controversial submission loss to Ben Askren at UFC 235. This marked his first bout since tearing his ACL against Rafael dos Anjos in December 2017.
UFC Minneapolis will go down inside the Target Center on June 29 in Minneapolis. Here is how the entire card stands as of now:
TBD vs. Robbie Lawler
Demian Maia vs. Anthony Rocco Martin
Roosevelt Roberts vs. Vinc Pichel
Jussier Formiga vs. Joseph Benavidez
Alonzo Menifield vs. Paul Craig
Chas Skelly vs. Jordan Griffin
Drew Dober vs. Marco Polo Reyes
Maurice Greene vs. Junior Albini
Eryk Anders vs. Vinicius Moreira

On July 20th Caleb Plant defends his MW boxing world title against Mike Lee, and as far as I can tell this is the first time two White American men have fought for a boxing world title since Fullmer vs Basilio in 1960.

- All Elite Wrestling show was great. The Lucha Brothers vs Young Bucks, Cody vs Dusty Rhodes aka Goldust and Chris Jericho vs Kenny Omega where great. Cody vs Dusty was the best match for me. Goldust is a very underated wrestler. Dude isnt good. He is great. The match was very emotional!
