Gold BJJ has been putting out some stellar videos lately.

Not a leg lock guy myself, but this is good to at least know the basics of it.

Got a stripe on my purple belt last night.

I did not expect. I've had it for a year now but still feel like they are big shoes to fill.

congrats man. I got my brown on this day last year... always felt like an imposter. Then I started going to an open mat with guys from other gyms. I'm at least competitive with the other browns, so I don't feel as bad now. Slowly starting to accept my browness

Yep its a weird journey.

I got my purple from someone who is known for giving easy belts. On the other hand I'd been a blue under much harder coaches for 5 years already.

I can hang with most purples, however there are many purple belts who are clearly on a way higher level.
I can beat most blue belts without too much trouble, however there are still a few that get the best of me.

Jiu jitsu is deep, it's almost absurd to divide the journey into just 5 groupings.

Most of my skills are al relative to how I'm feeling physically. If I had a 20 year old body to apply my tools with I might be a beast as but many days I'm just feeling old and slow lol

Congrats on the Brown Belt man. It's such a long journey and most people don't even make it to Purple.

Got a 2nd stripe on my purple belt for Christmas :D

My club will be open the whole break, I have time off work I'm looking forward to lots of training.

It's been a struggle for me lately, I've been dealing with chronic low energy for several months my jiu jitsu's been shite lately asa result, it's been scary to go to class cuz I know I'm gonna get hurt lol but I've been going anyways. Starting to feel better, Started taking some vitamins. Had an OK class today.

My nephew is training with me, it's a good motivator he just got his blue in just over 1 year of training.
