There is something so cool when kids tap into something and find the passion/discipline to do it WELL.

I just got back from my son's BJJ class, there is a kid in there about 10 or 12, but HOLY SHIT he can move on those mats something beautiful. He just gets it, and a kid's body is so light and flexible.

I also dig watching younger kids skateboard, they can ollie so high, lol they just pop off and fly like there is no gravity

TMAs are the best way to teach a kid discipline, value of hard work, respect, etc.

Some ultra-modern MMA gyms lack the tradition and spiritual approach, imho. I hope TMAs will make a comeback soon.

p.s. I convinced my cousin to take her 6-y.o. son to learn martial arts, Shotokan Karate FTW!

- Shotokan karatê is very good, another good martial arts to a kid to learning are capoeira and kung-fu, for the agility and strenght.

^ Capoiera, mang, that is a truly beautiful thing. My another cousin's son is doing it. And is getting pretty good at it. I wish I could do it myself.

^ I wish I could, Edge.

I've injured my back like half a year ago, and any kind of "real" physical activity is off limits for a long while now. I almost feel like crying sometimes :(

Yeah getting older is no joke.

When I watch the kids in my son's jitz class moving around it really hits home that I will never be able to move like that again. So flexible, so light and free. I am still relatively healthy but have all kinds of cracks and pains, my knee gives out sometimes, etc.

I also recently had to come to terms that I would likely never learn how to ride skate bowls anymore... Always wanted to learn but I am just too stiff these days, and falling just hurts way too much when you're older.

Its an inspiration to stay fit, Edge is good to recommend yoga, stretching etc. There is a lot we can do but aging is simply a reality that can't be stopped.

Enjoy physical activity while you can, folks. Be good to your body
