I'm guessing public transit gets shut down pretty soon. Bus and subway unions are going to freak if anyone gets sick, or even as the infected numbers increase locally.
I am wondering how many of these closures/cancellations are really about safety, vs how much is done because of potential liability/legal fears. Regardless, do as you're told I guess.
It sets a huge precedent imo, every time governments choose to declare an emergency the whole world shuts down and self-isolates. Seems a pretty powerful weapon to wield imo, you can stop almost any industry, and/or starve out any country economically at will, fuck up entire economies, sending thousands of people into unemployment and bankruptcy etc, and the people will support it.
Watching my first UFC in years right now. LOL at UFC trying to run in the pandemic. The building is empty though, the local Brazilian government told greasy money grubbing scumbag Dana no crowd.
