While America has the greater firepower the commonwealth has the benefit of being spread around so it would be harder to take out all parts. One thing I know for sure is Canada would get fucked up very quickly and they would apologise for it as well.
I think that because of the different locations the commonwealth would ultimately win.
Also, like Winnson has pointed out previously in another thread, America has never won a war that they were the sole combatants in. So they have that going against them as well.

That's a tough one. Without Russia and/or China on board, America might fuck everything up.

It just depends on what all the itty bitty countries do that couldn't possibly fight back.
Do they go all Vietnam and deep underground, or do they stay on the surface and get blown to bits?

The Commonwealth has Britain and India for starters guys.
Britain speaks for itself.
India admittedly not so muxh at first glance but lets not forget that it raised the largest war time armed forces the world has ever seen with 2.5mio active troops during ww2. They weren't all sepoys either you had sikhs, gurkha, Rajpuht et al. They recently successfully launched an orbitor to Mars so were not talking about a 1940's India here.
Then there is the Fiji Islands currently suspended from the Commonwealth but the queen would reinstate them at the first sign of conflict.
