Abos make great food?
People say they all want the truth, but when they are confronted with a truth that disagrees with them, they balk at it as if it were an unwanted zombie apocalypse come to destroy civilization.

Religion is how we hang on in life rather than let go

Id appreciate it if youd clarify that statement as being in relation to western religion and not dharmic faiths like buddhism which teach the exact opposite.

Interestingly Ango Saxons have the best funerals out of any ive been to, no one cries and wails (like hindu and buddhist women at funerals) and you all get drunk. I think its because they are a war people at heart the anglos

Its funny you mention the Anglo Saxons, my bloodprint data came back and I am 98% Berzerker and 1% Anglo Saxon, 1% unknown. We do miss our departed but definately take it on the chin and recognize the mortality of us all

Religion is the whore that manipulates man by how I explained initially. We hang on in life and it opens up a pandoras box for a doorway to our soul, our want to belong being such social creatures turns us into manipulative fodder. Think deeper about that and our cultural ego and disposition to the narrative.........

What is a Berzerker
(that can be taken as both a question and a statement, lol I's that cool? :D)

----

Religion imo when it becomes extreme/dogmatic/irrational is dangerous, and deserves all the criticism it is getting here.

However as I grow older I am finding that those around me who have totally abandoned any idea of God or faith or a spiritual moral compass inherently seem to make a mess of their lives and are usually less happy with age. Reversely, those I know with a stable religious center seem to have less trouble about them and have more peace.

Of course there are a million exceptions, and this is just my own personal microscopic sampling of humanity... but the more I look around and at my own life too I think that a some degree of spiritual/religious context is healthy. We just have to be aware of the limits of whatever religious context we may be using; the map is not the territory etc.

I agree 100% in What's idea of 'not clinging', or not putting one's faiths in dogmatic concrete irrational beliefs etc... but on the other hand total atheism and abandonment of anything that might smell of religion I think is also folly and likely leads to a lot of mess and strife.

^ Yeah that's it.

Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater

Religion is the finger pointing at the moon, but is not the moon

On the other hand what I was trying to say is that being 'spiritual' yet throwing out all religious context might be a bit harsh for the mind. Suddenly we have to explore every question or contemplation of Reality all over again. It is natural for us to have concepts, symbols etc to even begin thinking about such things.

I can see the value in someone who has made bridges between their symbolic religious language and their spiritual life and are happy with those bridges etc. Like I said if religion is kept simple it can do a lot of good for people who like to be simple and don't have the ability or desire to get all philosophical and exploratory about it all. Does that make sense? Some religious people I have no doubt make great use of it and can be very in touch with the divine and their spiritual essences etc. It can be useful if used in the right way, but easy to go too far or distort it into something ugly.

Religion is a social control mechanism.

Man has always had a spiritual side, based on the cycle of the Earth. The seasons, planting, harvest, the sun, the moon and the stars.

Let's hearken back to looking out to the heavens for answers just like the old days, without all the other bullshit thrown in so we have to hate and kill each other.

Whatever floats your boat and gets you through
It's OK with me if it's OK with you

The only problem I have with organized religion is you have to hate others that don't share your faith.
That is some petty bullshit right there. Straight up.

The Trifecta of keeping humanity in balance way back in the day was Judaism, Christianity, and Islam.

The very same God we all believe in would like us to kill each other en masse from time to time, just to keep things in balance.

Thanks God!

Has God ever fucked another God? Could He do that without buggering HImself?

Let's get to the real questions here.

If we all played to our strengths and recognized our differences, humanity could colonize space.

If we all have to be exactly the same, we are fucked. We are not all exactly the same. Different people come from different places and have different belief systems. When your belief system is so right everyone else has to be wrong, you're wrong. Full stop.

You do you over there and I'll do me over here. I'm happy to listen to what you think happens if you're happy to hear what I think happens. Peace

Everyone has to be exactly the same right now and that is fucking us up majorly.

If we're all exactly the same and there are no winners or losers, everybody loses.

Really simple stuff.
