I saw something at work that reminded me of your post about that research. Not really the same at all but...
A cute young nurse was smiling, having a great day. A resident was flirting with her. She was glowing. It wasn't 30 mins until other bitches were talking about her. Being snarky to her, etc. Some people can't stand to see others do well.
Anyway, made me think about how our reaction to someone's behavior doesn't always mean that their behavior is intended to trigger that response.
At any rate, I think the research was flawed in more than one way.
