This is amazing. I'm gonna go through the whole series today while working
Great stuff. I have recently found a new thrill in drawing and studying faces. I always avoided before
Looking forward to the other episodes, will post as I go
Portrait Competition TV Series
Episode 2
'Never leave it in the hands of the judges', lol
'Never leave it in the hands of the judges', lol
sonofabitch, they get better and better.
This must be done deliberately. Every episode sets the bar a little higher. Some serious killers in this episode:

^ dude got robbed
Episode 6
The dude who got robbed was brought back in because he is clearly fucking amazing and the judges fucked up. drama! lol
then he comes back in to the quarterfinals or whatever and slays everyone
Episode 7
The same dude is clearly making the strongest paintings, but the hosts don't like him because he is using his ipad and is basically just taking a photo, shooping it up and then copying the shoop and not the model. Its the most efficient way, but they never actually defined the terms of what defines a 'portrait'
interesting

aaaaaaannnnd the propaganda drops
lol
I knew this show was too good to be true.
Episode 8 is a MAJOR paid and bought commercial, with the episode focusing on for:
a) the UK Armed Forces
they discuss a commission to 'boost the morale' of tha troops in Iraq and Afghanistan etc. 'The Young men and women on the front line' (I am quoting). Model actually sang 'Over The Rainbow' to the troops in Iraq.
b) a 'Distinguished and Much Respected Honorable' High Court Judge, and the 'First Asian Female High Court Judge'
'Respecting the History and the Heritage of this Wonderful Institution'
Totally ran off key with the rest of the show.
Amazing and sad.
lol

Its not even close. The kid with the ipad that got wrongly eliminated and brought back is absolutely slaying everyone. Not even in the same ballpark
The judges act like they don't even see it

LOLOL the kid stuck it to them!
Here was his commission... is was supposed to be of this barbie lookin broad who sang to the troops and this was some morale boosting thing to pump up the troops.
Anyways this is what the kid gave em:
I think its pretty clear that he is mocking the whole commission, but probably took their money anyways. Look, he drew a theatre stage with the happy/sad masks above them, yet other elements looking like a church. Made the bitch look cheesy as hell, the whole thing looks like a joke. Typically most portraits are almost never looking right at the viewer.
I really think the kid stuck it to them. The judges are talking about its merits as a portrait, just glassing over the symbolism lol

Oh yeah, every single one of the models/sitters is a celebrity of some sorts, and every single one of them is a pretentious snob.
Sucks because all the artists seem like really cool and interesting people, I would happily have a drink with any one of them.
