Makes a lot of sense.

This is a good video but I wonder why they compared light vs heavy using the same volume when thats not how it works IRL for most of us.

Volume seems a bit high for a compound lift, are you mainly going for hypertrophy?

Aye. I did stronglifts 5x5 for a couple of years. Deads, squats, and rows are all at weights I'm (somewhat) satisfied with. Now I'd like to actually look like I lift, as Vutulaki put it.
I'm clueless when it comes to strength training and any input is welcome.

My bodybuilding knowledge is pretty low. The few tips I have picked up over the years would be:

If you have shitty shoulder gains like me seated overhead press is the one thing that can fix that.
Dumbbell rows can give you surprisingly solid lats.
To make your body burn fat you need to have aerobic fitness and anaerobic fitness.
To have below 10% bodyfat without PEDs you need a pretty crazy diet like only eat chicken salad and brown rice.

Yeah well we'll have to work it out as we go, Im leaning towards moderate to heavy weight to near failure as being the best way to achieve the best pump and most intense DOMS which I know doesnt mean more hypertrophy but my gut says otherwise

Also I think to look like you lift you have to either be fucken huge and at 110KG I wasnt close or a bit lighter and leaner plus more conditioned.

My cousin who did a long prison term and came out jacked as fuck has some interesting views on it ill post a summary of our text convo later.

Yeah plus they had machines just no free weights he also did boxing but Im more so referring to how he talks about how people outside worrying too much about everything besides rest and that we eat way too much

He reckons the reason they get so jacked is that in max sec they are locked up 23 hours a day most days so they go super hard the days they get out and rest heaps, he reckons non of them are hitting close to 1g/KG body weight of protein but make gains easily. Says its all the rest plus going all out when they can
