Next we hit the AMALFI COAST

I was looking forward to driving this, as it's supposed to be both crazy and beautiful. They are both right lol

First night was a place in SORRENTO:

The place we rented had a ROOFTOP. I bought some weed there and smoked it on the roof but it made me sick lol

Next we stopped a place called POSITANO.

we managed to get down to see it before a storm hit. It was the only rain we had the whole trip, but it soon passed and was gone by the time we made it to our next destination. Very lucky with weather

Next we booked 1 night in a place called RAVELLO.
Another Air BNB, it was this little Italian grandma's house way up on the cliff. All the decor was 100 year old grandma stuff, lol very romantic :D

But there was a secret pathway from her doorstep that crawled up the cliffside into the historic town, so it was actually perfect
it was one of these houses in the middle:

This was the view from the front of the little grandma's house. I don't know how she gets her necessities, lol

Next day we finished the last bit of the Amalfi Coast.

Traffic was not really that bad at all, this was the worst of the traffic jams, lol:

Next we went to medieval city near the east coast called MATERA.
Very cool, I wish I had more time to explore but we only had a few hours in here:

Next we stayed in a place called ALBEROBELLO

This place has tons of ROCKS and STONES everywhere, so the people developed a style of building houses with them unique to this area. Italy has made it illegal to destroy them, but instead allows people to renovate them so there is a whole little town like this with lots of places to rent for a night.

Super beautiful place

Last stop was BARI.

A beautiful city, great nightlife. A teenager's paradise lol there were tons of em all flirting with their vespas etc :D

The place we rented said it had parking but that was a lie so I drove around for over an hour trying to find parking right in the heat of the downtown lol in weekend traffic. But once I got settled it was a very pretty city to walk around in.

We were supposed to fly to Toronto from Bari the next day via Munich, but there was a plane delay and we missed our second flight. So Lufthansa gave us a free hotel and dinner for 1 night in Munich, which was not so bad.
We had already returned the rental car, and were too tired and broke to start getting taxis into Munich so we didn't explore, but still kind of fun to stay in Munich for a night.

bring a can of pineapples for extra toppings. I don't think they offer that at the pizzerias there.

LOL

Pizza was pretty good but VERY simple, sparse/limited with the toppings, and super repetitive.

Every place all over Italy had basically the exact same menus everywhere we went, there are only like 4-5 types of pizza in the whole country lol and all of them are really kind of bland and topping-less.

Canadian pizza is WAY better, we have different kinds of crusts, cheese-filled crusts, and all kinds of different combos of toppings everywhere you go. MOST toppings in Canada you simply can't find in Italy on a pizza, are are in general just way more generous/full.

In the end however, Brazilian pizza crushes everyone and it's not even close.
Italy should STFU about its pizza imho lol

The same with the pasta. Very good ingredients but super bland and repetitive all over the country. Different shaped noodle, different sauce. That's about most of the choices you get lol

There is still no food anywhere in the world I've seen that is anywhere close to being as gostoso as the food in Brazil.

But I ate happily :D

Beautiful trip!
Swedish oxfilé pizza with bearnaise sauce is the best pizza.
