This photo shows a juvenile fish taking refuge in a pelagic organism drifting in the ocean during a night dive in Kona, Hawaii.

"While suspended in the black water, you observe life forms that you have never seen before or even imagined that surface in the shallows," photographer Ron Watkins said.

“Shot in Norway, this photo shows the bizarre-looking and rather larger angler fish,” Durand said.

Photographer Lill Haugen added that the fish was planning to ambush and eat nearly anything that would come along.

“Lionfish Looking at Its Lunch” was snapped at the wreck of the ship Sufa, located in waters off of Eliat, Israel. A lionfish, on the right, eyes a school of smaller “glass sweeper” fish while it hunts for its next meal.

Photographer Ilan Ben Tov explained that every year, the wreck of the Sufa becomes home to a huge school of glass sweepers that take shelter in the upper part of the wreck, which is what’s left of the ship’s bridge.
