I always thought it was stupid when heavy guys tried to dive or surf.
In my punkest years I weighted like 165 I could stay on a good crowd for a few minutes sometimes (or so it seemed)

Punk looks real fun to play... and I've been playing Blitzkrieg Bop by the Ramones a lot on the Guitar Hero Anti got me on the Christmas gifts thread. 3 chords over and over and over as fast as you can and as loud as you can :)

I'll be in town last week of september... hopefully we can set up something. You gotta supply some Puroresu masks for the pics though!

This is awesome news! Looks like you already have one one hell of a singer in Neil "Ziggy Stardust" Moore!

With Masato on Drums and you on guitar this should be magic! Reminds me of the last time I saw a few guys with slight handicaps and disabilities getting together to spread the joy of music and unite for a cause.

Plus it is right before the Holidays as well! I love to see people coming together around this time of the year. I wonder is Masato will allow you to set up the "festivus Pole and have the "Feats of strength" right in his mancave without canuckster getting a little jelly.

Im in the area and I play bass, my patch cords stopped working 5-10 years ago though lol Who knows if my amp still works. Im more into alternative and metal but punk is pretty cool.

I found some oldschool compilation CDs a while ago and am going crazy on it. I discovered newschool skate-punk in the 90's and it changed my world but I honestly never really gave the old 70's UK scene a fair chance. Always thought it was old/weak but its not, some of it fuckin rips

The difference between the Punk Revolution and the previous musical revolutions, is that it did not come from the top and get passed down. Punk was a genuine rebellion by the people, and eventually the music industry and the mass media in general, had to acknowledge it so that they could take ownership of it and profit from it.

I think the story of the Sex Pistols rise to notoriety is hilarious. The manager, Malcolm McLaren, a man who understood pop culture and grass roots marketing, basically trolled his way to the top of the Pop Charts. By the time the suits at the record companies had figured out how to capitalize from it, they were gone.

The 80's saw some hard core stuff, which didn't do much for me. Then the 90's brought the bubble gum feel back to it, more in the vein of the Ramones than the Pistols. Bands like the Clash and the Stranglers had genuine talent, and then there was the likes of Billy Idol's band, Generation X, all of it was good shit in a time when Emmerson Lake and Palmer and REO Speedwagon were topping the charts.
