However this article raised a few red flags for me;

according to the article, many 'fake' shamans are cashing in on the trend and not all ayahuasca retreats are pure and good-intended. Just be careful where you go or who you trust:

I cringe when I think of the shady crap I bought on the streets. If I were ever to do again it would have to some straight from a legit chemist. Sometimes I even wonder if I ever took the pure shit or not, or where it came from :(
