Such graceful domination.

The upcoming heavyweight ufc title fight presents an interesting clash of lineages.
Miocic/Werdum is second generation Vale/Gracie

godam, havent seen that before,
People say they all want the truth, but when they are confronted with a truth that disagrees with them, they balk at it as if it were an unwanted zombie apocalypse come to destroy civilization.

Fujiwara Gumi. Shammy and Vale were both gaijin on the roster, Vale even trade marked the term shootfighter.

Vale even tested his skills in the K1 ring:

He did. He owns that term.
Miocic's trainer got his teaching certificate from a Bart Vale seminar. Lol. I grappled with him one time when I was 19. Never saw him do any martial arts after that. But he would pressure guys into getting his logo tattooed on their bodies after they fought pro. It was pretty weird in retrospect.

It was clearly a work. Which makes Shamrock's continued headlining status really baffling. He has a lot of other suspected works on his resume as well, most famously against Rich Franklin in the UFC.
He'll be headlining Bellator against Royce Gracie pretty soon. Probably part of the reason Zuffa thinks it's kosher to pull this Mickey Gall/CMPunk stunt.
Zuffa took control of an amateur promotion (deadseriousmma.com), featured Mickey Gall in the main event for Dana White's youtube reality show, and now they're going to have him try to make CMPunk look good. They have a UFC vet running the promotion @teamfrankiep out of the old ECW Arena and it looks like they want to use it to run gimmicks. Have guys work on their mic skills and whatnot. I don't know... I'm not really sure what they're thinking.
Maybe keep a jobber league going so they can have fodder for other WWE guys to make the transition to UFC.
It feels like they're laying down the promotional infrastructure to permanently commingle UFC with entertainment wrestling.
