David Edger, a high-ranking CIA officer who was previously station chief in Berlin, Germany (see May 1997), joins the political science department of the University of Oklahoma at Norman as a visiting scholar.
Edger’s appointment may have been connected to his previous duties in Germany, where, during the years 1997-2001, he directed CIA surveillance and infiltration attempts against the Hamburg cell of 9/11 hijackers. A 2002 article in a local newspaper makes clear that Edger, or possibly other intelligence officers, had some inside but incomplete foreknowledge of al-Qaeda’s plans: “Up until his appointment with OU six months ago, Edger’s work with the CIA focused on terrorist groups in Germany. One of the three cells he was tracking included some of the people responsible for the Sept. 11 attacks on the World Trade Center. He said although officers knew members of the cell and some of what they were doing, they had no idea that they would meet in London and go to different parts of the US, where they would learn to fly planes to crash into the World Trade Center. ‘In that case, we failed,’ Edger said.”

An announcement says that the appointment was arranged by the university’s president David Boren: “David Edger has joined us as a CIA officer in residence. Mr. Edger most recently was stationed at the US Embassy in Berlin as minister-counselor for coordination, where he directed both military and civilian US intelligence programs in Germany. During the two-year assignment, Mr. Edger will teach courses related to the US intelligence community and foreign policy. President David Boren arranged for his participation at OU.”
According to the Pulitzer Prize-winning author Bob Woodward, in his book “Bush At War,” the two tucked into breakfast at the St. Regis Hotel, three blocks away from the White House. They were longtime friends since Boren’s days as chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee.
“What is it?” Tenet asked the security guards who’d just run to their table.
“The World Trade tower has been attacked,” said one.
After confirming the attack with CIA headquarters via cell phone, Tenet left Boren.
“I wonder,” Tenet said, “if it has anything to do with this guy taking pilot training.

On May 14, 2004, it was revealed that Nick Berg had been investigated during the U.S. government's investigation of Zacarias Moussaoui. Berg's email address had been used by Moussaoui prior to the September 11, 2001, attacks. According to Berg's father, Nick Berg had a chance encounter with an acquaintance of Moussaoui on a bus in Norman, Oklahoma. This person had asked to borrow Berg's laptop computer to send an email. Berg gave the details of his own email account and password, which were later used by Moussaoui. The FBI found that Berg had no direct terrorism connections or direct link with Moussaoui.

"He said, 'They arrested me because I had a Jewish last name and an Israeli stamp in my passport.' Then the Iraqi police put him with the US military because they thought he was a spy. Nick told me all this. He wasn't mad. It was just an adventure for him. He said, 'This shit happens. It was bad luck'."

Michael Berg, Nicholas's father, insists that for eleven days Nicholas was detained by U.S. forces in Iraq, and the reason Berg lost his life "was the fact that the U.S. government saw fit to keep him in custody for 13 days without any of his due process or civil rights."
According to Berg's friend, Chilean journalist Hugo Infante, Berg told Infante that "Iraqi police caught [him] one night, they saw [his] passport and [his] Jewish last name and [his] Israeli stamp. This guy thought [he] was a spy so they put [him] with American soldiers and American soldiers put [him] in a jail for two weeks."
U.S. officials deny that Berg was ever held in custody by U.S. forces. However, a U.S. general says that FBI agents were the ones who instructed the Iraq police to detain Berg for two weeks, since he was traveling In Iraq without proper documentation. According to the official story, local police in Mosul arrested Berg on March 24 and released him on April 6, during which period the FBI visited the detainee three times.
Mosul police chief Maj. Gen. Mohammed Khair al-Barhawi denies that Berg was ever in Iraqi custody, saying that "The Iraqi police never arrested the slain American…. Take it from me… that such reports are baseless."
Even if the Iraqi police chief is inaccurate in denying Nick was ever in Iraqi custody, Nick’s family remains unconvinced that U.S. officials were not ultimately responsible. Nick’s father said to the Associated Press: "The Iraqi police do not tell the FBI what to do, the FBI tells the Iraqi police what to do. Who do they think they’re kidding?" Nick’s brother, David, points out, "The jail had U.S. MP's in it. Technically it was an Iraqi prison, but there is no Iraqi government, so what does that mean?" Given the recent claim from a U.S. general that the FBI instructed the Iraqi police to hold Nick Berg, his family’s attitude on this makes a lot of sense.
As evidence that Nick was in fact in U.S. custody, his family has provided an e-mail sent on April 1 from U.S. consular officer in Iraq, Beth A. Payne, which says plainly:
"I have confirmed that your son, Nick, is being detained by the U.S. military in Mosul. He is safe. He was picked up approximately one week ago. We will try to obtain additional information regarding his detention and a contact person you can communicate with directly."
Spokeswoman Kelly Shannon has responded that Payne was wrong about this, saying that "as Mr. Berg had been released, the consular officer did not convey this information to the family because he was released, thankfully…. And we thought he was on his way."
Mr. Berg was detained in March by the Iraqi police in the northern city of Mosul, American officials and his parents said. While he was in police custody, he was questioned by F.B.I. agents who were trying to determine what he was doing in Iraq and whether he was a United States citizen.
At the same time, his parents, frustrated by their inability to find out about their son's whereabouts, filed a lawsuit in federal court in Philadelphia on April 5 asserting that he was being held by the American military in violation of his civil rights. A day later, he was released.
He disappeared soon after that.

In this special episode of 9/11 Free Fall, Bob McIlvaine, Richard Gage, AIA, and Ted Walter discuss the Bobby McIlvaine World Trade Center Investigation Act, which McIlvaine and Gage will officially announce in a news conference at the National Press Club on September 11th. Host Andy Steele's three guests tell how AE911Truth will be calling upon its supporters in the coming months to ask their US representatives to introduce the Act to either chamber of Congress. In addition, Ted Walter and Richard Gage announce Professor Leroy Hulsey's upcoming progress report presentation on his World Trade Center 7 Study, which will be livestreamed from the University of Alaska Fairbanks' website on September 6th.

Washington, D.C. – On the 16th anniversary of the September 11th attacks, 9/11 family member Bob McIlvaine and architect Richard Gage, AIA, will announce the Bobby McIlvaine World Trade Center Investigation Act at a news conference to be held at the National Press Club at 1 p.m. EDT.
The Bobby McIlvaine Act is draft legislation that would empanel a select committee in either chamber of Congress to reinvestigate the destruction of the three World Trade Center towers on September 11, 2001. The act is named after Mr. McIlvaine’s son Bobby, who was tragically killed at the age of 26 while entering the North Tower of the World Trade Center.
Mr. McIlvaine has been an outspoken leader in advocating for a new investigation since the release of the 9/11 Commission Report in 2004. Mr. Gage, meanwhile, has worked diligently to educate and mobilize technical professionals since he founded the organization Architects & Engineers for 9/11 Truth (AE911Truth) in 2006. Today, AE911Truth represents close to 3,000 architects and engineers, as well as two-dozen 9/11 family members, who have signed AE911Truth’s petition calling on Congress to open a new investigation.
Mr. McIlvaine and Mr. Gage will be joined by Peter Michael Ketcham, a former employee of the U.S. Commerce Department’s National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), the agency that was charged with investigating the World Trade Center disaster. Mr. Ketcham first spoke out against his former agency’s investigation in 2016 and has since joined with AE911Truth in championing a new investigation.
At the conclusion of the news conference, Mr. McIlvaine, Mr. Gage, Mr. Ketcham, and supporters of the Bobby McIlvaine Act will proceed to the Capitol, where they will distribute packets to every member of Congress over the next day and a half. They will then work to assemble a bi-partisan group of sponsors and have the resolution introduced by next year’s September 11th anniversary.
The group will use the soon-to-be-released computer simulation of World Trade Center Building 7’s collapse — a study conducted by researchers at the University of Alaska Fairbanks and funded by AE911Truth — to bolster its case that NIST’s account of the building collapses is false and that it is incumbent upon Congress to launch its own investigation.
Bob McIlvaine, a former history teacher from Oreland, PA, is one of the most outspoken 9/11 family members. His son, Robert McIlvaine, Jr. (Princeton University '97) was Assistant Vice-President of Media Relations for Merrill Lynch & Co. and perished at the World Trade Center's North Tower on September 11, 2001. From the evidence that Bob has gathered, it is apparent his son was killed by an explosion, likely in the lobby. Bob is one of the family members who attended every 9/11 Commission hearing as well as numerous 9/11 Truth conferences around the world. He has appeared in several TV, radio and newspaper interviews, as well as the documentary 9/11: Press For Truth, and commercial TV spots on behalf of BuildingWhat.org, calling attention to the mysterious collapse of a third WTC tower which was not hit by an airplane.
Bob McIlvaine and his family are not alone in having suffered a devastating personal loss on September 11, 2001. The loved ones of the nearly 3,000 victims of the destruction at the World Trade Center know what he has endured for the past 15 years.
But McIlvaine is different from most of these families in important ways. In addition to his unwavering and often lonely fight to expose the complicity of the U.S. government in this false flag attack, he has strong forensic evidence that his 26-year-old son, Bobby, was killed by a powerful explosion as he was about to enter the lobby of the North Tower. That evidence is corroborated by the accounts of many FDNY members, police officers, and workers who reported explosions in the lower parts of the towers before the buildings were destroyed—some of them even before the first airplane struck.
In a recent interview, McIlvaine said his son’s body was one of the first to be recovered and taken to the New York City morgue on that day. He explained that he has been able to reach more definitive conclusions about the details of his son’s death only since conferring with the doctor who had examined his body at the morgue.
The meeting, which McIlvaine recalls happening in 2006 or 2007, provided evidence that a huge explosion — and not the North Tower’s eventual demise — was responsible for killing his son. According to McIlvaine, the wounds described by the doctor indicated that his son had been hit by flying glass from some kind of massive blast. Bobby’s face was damaged beyond recognition, he had lacerations all over his chest from flying glass, and he had post-mortem burns. In fact, the blast was strong enough to literally blow Bobby out of his laced shoes (they were not on the body when it was brought to the morgue).
