Pottery/Art Studio Expansion

Hey all

So as most of you may remember, Mrs Masato runs a pottery studio, she bought the building with a business partner maybe 7-8 years ago.

I have a thread about it here but looks like all the pics have become outdated and are gone

Anyways she has been sharing the commercial building with a partner, her partner ran all the arts upstairs while my wife ran the pottery on the main floor. But her partner recently said she wanted to retire and get out of the mortgage. So we scrambled together a plan to buy out her shares of things, and we are coming to the very end of clearing the deal.

Now my wife will own the whole building and we can make classes for anything we like we don't have to tiptoe around her old partner anymore.

We already gutted the upstairs and renovations are underway

I'll be teaching again there in Oct, stoked

I am to design a big mural in the stairwell but need time, lol Wife has me running around all over getting stuff ready to fix up the new space

I will post pics of updates, it will come together quickly I think

This is really cool to see as it has been my wife's dream and goal to one day own her own space and do what she likes with it. Now after hard work and patience I get to see her dream manifesting

That's some kinda magic if you ask me

We could but not gonna. I have a membership at a club that is literally like 100 feet away lol they have plenty mat space.

Plus Masato dojo in my garage. I am nicely set up for the apocalypse, lol God gave me the things I need and more. I will make sure to nurture them all.

First day of operations on the new floor is today!! :D

So far so good, 3 classes booked.

I'm behind in pictures, sorry. It all happened so fast lol
2 weeks from gutted to (almost) finished. Still a few touches to go but its just cosmetic

I still have to have my mural put up, the vinyl printing guys supposedly came today to take measurements. I've already got the image ready just have to match my specs to theirs.

Its quite unreal still to me

Oh yeah thanks to Canuckster and his boy for a big help Saturday with some thangs we couldn't get done ourselves. BJJ ain't the only skills he gotz

I'll post pics soon.

Hell yes. We actually considered that for a time, pottery + a cafe with brazilian treats :D It would have worked too my wife's family would have been happy to make their recipes

I have to fill up that black chalkboard space with a menu-like illustration with the different classes etc that they offer. I have it designed I just need the time to get in there and do it. Maybe this weekend

Classes and workshops and parties are all full, the place is busy almost every day/night. So stoked.

We still have some things to get done but its functioning and people seem to be really happy there
