Just found this guy's playlist, and he is pumping me UP.

ANYONE WHO CAN DRAW TAKE NOTE:

I have always been terrible at keeping up regular drawing habits, but he is reminding me of how fast you get results if you do. I'm psyching myself up to draw a short comic/graphic novel but I am terrified of coming face to face with my actual drawing abilities... These videos are like going to train at Greg Jackson's or something, lol

I used to draw, the first draws i leanerd were Donald the duck, The woody woodpecker and a Orca\dolphin. :mrgreen:

FEET, y'all.

Something most artists avoid, but imo are really kinda fun to draw once you figure them out. Worth the time invested, as all bodies are planted on the ground by the feet. Good feet = good pose.

After that Proko debacle, I went back to this guys channel, and confirmed how awesome his vids are.

Here are my favourites of the ones I watched today.

This one is fucking BADASS.

I still know almost nothing about real color theory, I never properly learned and always been too scared to really study it. This one video alone sort of helped me crack the ice, he explains things so well. Great stuff:


This is a great one for beginners/intermediate or advanced drawers - a solid refresher on the basics of the human face/head. Wonderfully explained:

This one was a lot of fun... turns some scribbly marker sketches into some really great paintings in less than 15 minutes.

So last night I had to work an all-nighter, and I just tripped out on Sycra vids all night.

He has some over 2 hours where he just skypes with other illustrators and they draw and paint and joke together, its really good for long shifts.

Anyways, they are really inspiring me. My work all has to be done so fast, also my work is a very specific look that truthfully I can't stand, and got so jealous of these guys drawing in the style that is most fun for them (I had to learn/force my work style, its not natural to me at all...).

So every hour or so the vid would inspire me to stop what I was drawing for work and bust out a scribble of something fun.

Of course I had to keep working so even these are super fast and unrefined, but I am starting to see the difference in how I've conditioned myself to draw for work, and the yet undiscovered style that I've been ignoring/repressing all these years that wants to come out. - Its so much more fun
