Current fad? I first read of it in 2004 and since then have found that I do best with that type of training. If it's regaining popularity then good.

Yes. Actually a bit older method than most think but some coaches IIRC in the 80s brought it to fame. Bodybuilders usually did endless exercises and sets, spending hours in the gym and accumulating wear and tear and exhausting themselves and getting bored. In one sentence the intensity is increased beyond maximum levels to induce the highest possible damage in the shortest amount of time. It's not that you can prove that a particular balance of intensity vs volume is optimal, but I found that HIT and progressive overload is what works on my body.

Yes it's how all the GenZ are training, I know cause my son has switched from oly weightlifting to a normal gym before he starts MMA shortly. Basically all the kids at his school do it plus everyone on tiktok
When I say current fad I mean everyone is doing it now, its all over YT and tiktok, I dont mean its anything new

its older than the 80s I believe, Arthur Jones the rich guy who invented the nautilus machines is said to have come up with it although im sure there were guys in ancient times doing it by some other name
I train very similar but with back off sets and yes progressive overload
Bit of a bio, not much about HIT here
My issue is mainly with Metzger who was super dismissive of any training approach besides HIT 1 set to failure training, its a good approach but not the only one and very time effective. Works well yes but so does volume training just depends where youre at and how you respond
Lunch
Sick of chicken wraps so chopped half an onion into small cubes, about 5 thai chilies then dumped into a bowl and mashed up with two cans of sardines in springwater served with about 200g white rice
Thats a traditional Fijian fisherman's lunch at sea, yes they eat canned fish while fishing in pristine waters lol only they use bread not rice for obvious reasons
If inflation is an issue seriously try sardines high protein, calcium, omegas etc and cheap as fuck

Having something like that tomorrow only with brown rice.
I remember posting that recipe on Tnation over a decade ago and all the white retards laughed at me, fast forward to now and it's all over social media eveyone ravnig about sardines being the new tuna.

Smolov day 7 complete. Surprisingly this session was easy. Slightly harder than last time but I was expecting today to be when things got kinda hard, and they didnt really. Zero bicep pain, left delt pain is there but not as bad as last time. This is actually making me feel a lot more confident about being able to smash those last two crazy days.
Tomorrow will be interesting, 10 sets of 3 at a weight Im not used to lifting at. I will sleep in and eat a ton so I should get it though.
Also today was supposed to be a squat day as well, but my patella tendons are still sore and I dont feel like doing two sessions per day so I'm putting it off til Sunday. I've been eating a lot of beef tendon pho to help the healing process. In an ideal world Ill have a good session on Sunday with minimal pain, but realistically tendons heal slowly and probably I will feel some pain and have to back off. We will see.
